Description

Explore plant biodiversity of the southeastern United States!

Natural North Carolina is a collaboration between citizen scientists & research botanists to document the botanical diversity of the southeastern United States. Herbarium specimens are the basis of documenting the flora of a particular area. By transcribing the label data of herbarium specimens you are helping museum curators catalog their collections. This museum data is then used to make important decisions to protect natural habitats for plants & animals, to provide clean water, clean air & open space for people, and to advance sustainable relationships between people & nature.
